RIP: Restaurant K
In case anyone needs proof of the existence of Adam Smith's Invisible Hand: the generically-named Restaurant K has served its last generically-flavored meal. The place closed today, touchingly thanking its employees for their past service via a note on the door.
Said note also mentions that Ms. Swope will be working for McCormick & Schmick (Restaurant K's parent corporation).

Lunch was always good and the restaurant was usually (and surprisingly) crowded. Dinner however was like a ghost town. Had dinner there twice and on both occasions there were no more than 10 tables occupied. Because of their great lunches (I always ate at the bar because most times I ate alone) I'm sorry to read of its demise.

I saw the same note yesterday Bonz. It also suggested that they would try to re-locate the staff to M&S. I'm sure it would be difficult to fit them all in.
Although that location and the space would be tempting to many other restaurants, I have to believe in this economy that place could stay dark for a long time.
