Hi Arturo on Connaught Street is good. A great Italian chef there & good wine list. Alloro on Dover Street (W1) is good although not as fab since Marzo left the kitchen. Depends on budget but I could recommend more...

We often go to Como Lario on Holbein Place, just below Sloane Square. It's a real family affair, infact my girlfriend's parents used to go there in the 60s and it hasn't changed a bit in 40 years.

The food is simple but accomplished. The place is neat and tidy, bordering smart, but not at all pretentious. It doesn't actually look like a family affair; no red and white checked table cloths or wine bottle candle sticks. But the minute you walk in the welcome tells you all you need to know.

The prices don't reflect the location at all. Go in the Autumn and they have wonderful fresh porcini.
