Best milkshake in SF?

tara Jun 22, 2008 08:41 PM

Where can I get the best milkshake in San Francisco?

Foo-foo fancy (Bi-Rite Creamery), old-school (Mitchell's), or chain (Baskin-Robbins), it doesn't matter. My test: Chocolate, with and without malt.

Thanks in advance!

Bill's Place on Clement around 24th or 25th Ave. is definitely old school. They make great shakes.

I don't know if it's the best but I like St. Francis Fountain and Candy

I like St. Francis shakes if you specify not too thin. The best chocolate shake I've had is at Joe's Cable Car, but I never go there anymore because I like to grind my own chuck at home too and Joe's burgers are ridiculously priced.

I like St. Francis too, and I'll add Pearl's burgers on Post/Jones. Black Forest is great, or vanilla/chocolate malts.
