Retaurant in Wickford, RI / East Greenwich, RI

I am looking for a "special occasion" restaurant in the Wickford / East Greenwich, RI area. We will be celebrating my father-in-law's retirement and have people coming from Providence and from Charlestown, RI. Does anyone have any recommendations? Most of the posts on here seem to be somewhat dated for that area, so I can't seem to get much information. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!!

  1. Table 28 in East Greenwich, it's on the water.

    1. We don't have much of anything directly in Wickford. Duffy's Tavern is very good but very casual and probably not what you would want for your special occassion. The best bet would be something in East Greenwich - Post Office Cafe for excellent Italian and there is a private room you can ask for. Then Table 28, Harborside Lobstermania. If you want to go near Bonnet - Katarina's restaurant is nice and you may be able to sit your group outside.

Harbourside is really really bad. I'll still meet friends there for the occasional drink but you can't even count on something simple like a grilled chicken caeser or a bowl of chowder. It's horrid.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. We are thinking of going to Table 28. Is this a good choice?

I like Table 28 and it's a very pretty setting on the water. The food is good but not super-fancy (last time I went I had pasta bolognese)

Anyone been to the Seaport Tavern in Wickford? My sister-in-law got a recommendation for this place.

For a special event I would choose Table 28, I might go to lunch at Seaport Tavern.

That's too bad, we have not been there in awhile. We have had some good meals at Eleven Forty Nine. I have to say, the East Greenwich/Wickford area is much better than it was. We used to live in NK, years ago it was slim pickins!

Seaport is a nice location and setting, the food is unimpressive.
