Lunch & Dinner near Central Park / Museums

Traveling to NY from CT this Thursday arriving via Grand Central and walking to Met and 1 ot wo other museums. Interested in Lunch & Dinner Recommendations.

Lunch can be quick and easy nothing special just good.

Dinner can be more special we like nearly everything and will probably go relatively early.

Oh - and if you are walking up, there's a nice place for panini/other Italian fare on E. 73rd - Via Quadronno.

      Near the Met:

Cafe Sabarsky - wonderful Austrian food and great tortes/coffee

In the Met - the cafeteria downstairs has quite good food (I always get the poached salmon), or you could always try the cafe at the Petrie Court.

Square Meal - my favorite local place on Carnegie Hill - on E. 92nd between 5th & Madison - pretty room, excellent American food and desserts.

If you are looking for more upscale ideas for dinner, there is Cafe Boulud as well.

You might also try putting in "the Met" or "Metropolitan Museum" in the search function and see what else comes up. If you click on any of the "places" links, it will show you threads that discuss the restaurant - I've posted a number of reviews of Square Meal.
