Where to get GREAT - Chorizo/Portuguese Sausage ?

  • 5

Years ago the Mrs. and I were treated to some homemade "Portuguese Sausage" by a friend of ours.
We asked where she bought it from and we were told that her Mom maskes it all the time.

For years we have not found anything like it again.
It had a nice flavour and was not overly spicey as the Mrs. would not have liked it back then however our tastes are more accepting of spice in oid age lol

So where in Toronto does any suggest we go for some decent Chorizo or Portugueses Sausage as it sometimes known as?

Thanks in advance!

  1. I have never seen fresh homemade Portuguese sausage being sold before anywhere. Most Portuguese butcher and grocery stores sell them dry or smoked hanging from the the sealing, try Noso Thalho not sure if its spelled right, its on Bloor st 3 blocks east of dufferin they have a variety of Portuguese sausages.

    good luck

There are several Portuguese meat stores on Dundas between Brock and Ossington.
Don't worry about parking; the city does not go to court on $30 parking tickets.

    2. There's a really good Portuguese supermarket (Tavora) just west of Caledonia, past the underpass, on the south side of St Clair W. The butcher section is very good and they always have a selection of piccante, dolce and casa style cured sausages available. Tasty stuff.

Have you tried the chorizo sausage at Royal Beef? We like that one. Sun Valley also sells it, but I haven't tried it yet.
