Recs for King West and Spadina area

Looking for a resto/lounge with good food, drinks, cozy booths or couches, and music we don't have to yell over for a Saturday night around 9pm.

Can be a bar in a hotel, a restaurant with booths, a restaurant with a great bar/lounge area?

Looked at Spice Route but the reviews have been awful, likewise with Marben.

Thanks!

  1. Not only is it not very good, you'd DEFINETLY have to yell and fight on a Saturday night.

    1. I would recommend either Biff's at Front & Yonge (I know it's a bit of a distance, but it meets all of your other criteria), Urban at King & John is also fairly quiet and cozy.

      1. How about Marben on Wellington and Portland-ish...I think it might do the trick.

If you see above, they just said that they weren't looking for Marben.

I just thought of another one: how about The Paddock at Queen and Bathurst?

            Oops, totally missed that. sorry!

        2. Le Select gets busy, but there are cozy corners to be found. Crush has recently had a make over which makes a little more intermit, past experience with the food hasn't been great though. Thuet could work.

If you want an intimate booth (fits 6) try kiwi kitchen. Make sure to call ahead and reserve. The booths line the middle of the restaurant. The back part is an open concept, the front a bar. I enjoyed the place, conversations were heard, and the food was tasty.
