Long Island for a quick bite

We will by flying out of Islip on Monday and will be staying near the airport on Sunday night. Where are a few can't miss places? We have a 1 1/2 year old. We are open to just about anything. We do have a car.

Fine dining is scarce within 10 miles of Islip MacArthur Airport, just diners, Applebees and the Ocean Ave Steakhouse (not recommended). I've had pretty good Italian at Cafe La Strada just south of the LI Expressway at Exit 56--Route 111 (I've seen kids there).

Teller's Chop House on Main St.,. Islip, is good, pricey, but I am not sure about kid friendly. Same goes for the same owners' seafood-sushi restaurant, H2O ,in Smithtown--about the same distance,

How far are you willing to go? Not sure if there are any can't miss places where you would be comfortable with a 1 1/2 year old.
