Does anyone know why this has closed down?

worked in the area 4 years ago and used to go for lunch they did a great takeout lunch business with a hot table of 10-12 items... quick and fresh.. but always felt sorry for the people sitting down as the takout line stretched beside the tables and I would hate to eat with people standing over me..

dinner vs. lunch = restaurant make over failure

Funny, I ate dinner there once and I can't remember it was good or not. That's quite an impact they made on me. I do recall that there was only one other group in the restaurant.

No idea. At one time their pad thai was pretty tasty, but I never ate anything else there and it was always dead everytime I walked by at dinner time. I haven't been in ages either, because to be honest, the RM turned me off a bit when I saw them in action in the kitchen. Also, it's hard to recommend a place to people where you would only eat one thing on the menu.

Never even heard of this place but you have suddenly made me want nachos with pad thai and beef satay on top...

It's actually "Natchos Thai Thai", and while beef satay nachos sound good, I don't think they served it ;-).

Because they had a restaurant makeover...

The Restaurant Makeover was ages ago wasn't it. Its just dead inside, chairs on table etc. and a hand written sign saying "sorry we are closed'.

I think maybe the implication is that RM = kiss of death for many restos in TO. :) If I recall the episode, they were basically only surviving on lunch business, maybe that went down too much? But this is only idle speculation.
