Recent visits/opinions about Addie's?

gyozagirl Jun 19, 2008 09:32 AM

Addie's is one of those places - so close to my house that I tend to overlook it, if that makes sense. I'm considering going there tonight- has anyone been recently? Menu item recommendations? Thanks chowhounds!

I went 2.5 years ago and I really enjoyed it. We had a good scallop appetizer and I really enjoyed the strawberry and basil creme brulee. I can't quite remember what we had for an entree but they were both good. I imagine their menu has changed in the past few years.

I should note that I loved the quaint atmosphere, but DH disliked it so much that he doesn't want to return. I think he may have felt a bit claustrophobic.

Food was good but the service was bad. The waitress acted like it was a chore for her to serve us. I personally would not go back.

I really like Addie's, and we had our rehearsal dinner there (at the time Black Salt, our first choice, didn't have a private room ready).

We went for a dinner w/o kids a few weeks back. Service was still very good. The food was just a little under their par, I felt. Something seems wrong with their online menu - I was hoping to recall what we ordered.

Nothing bad, please note, just not up to our expectations (though, that's often what's wrong in the first place with expectations).

I haven't been there, but the place next door has the cheapest beer in town!

GO, and eat outside, tonight will be perfect. Food is adequate, although a little pricey.

Thanks for the feedback - I wound up working late and we went to Praline, up in the Glen Echo-area instead, which was nice, glad I tried it out. Addie's will have to be on hold for next time, but I'm glad to know there are some fans out there.
