Steak in Charleston

carey24 Jun 19, 2008 04:16 AM

I am looking for a restaurant in Charleston, and have narrowed it down to SNOB and High Cotton. The thing is we both love steak. So now I'm thinking High Cotton over SNOB. But we don't necessarily need anything super fancy either. I was also looking at Oak Steakhouse which had mixed reviews. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Although I do not have personal experience there, everyone I know who has eaten at Oak has loved it. High Cotton is much more a steak place than SNOBs.

I used to work at Oak, but I promise I'm not biased! I think it's a great restaurant, especially if you want steak. You'll get many more steak-related options than you would elsewhere. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and you get a different ambiance depending on where you sit. If you sit on the first floor you get some of the lively upscale bar atmosphere (no smoking anywhere so don't worry about that), and plenty of great people watching.
