Recommendations for dinner for large groups (rehearsal dinner) in Cupertino/Saratoga area?
Does anyone have recommendations for a rehearsal dinner in the Cupertino/Saratoga/Sunnyvale area on a Friday night late August? I'm looking at 30 - 50 people total - and since the reception will be a Chinese banquet, I'd like to avoid Chinese food. But anything else is fair game. Would be nice too if it was more family-style.
We were dining out at Mia Vicino and I noticed they are now offering a group room, too.
I really enjoy (so almost always have) the penne with chicken main but -- last night -- tried the shellfish pasta; I'll have to rotate back-and-forth between the two. :)
Anyhow, it's not really within your requested geographies but I thought you might like to know there is another alternative available.
Le Papillon in West San Jose on Saratoga and Kiely is able to host 30-50 people but it might be a little too formal for what you're looking for... Buca de Beppo (Campbell) or Maggiano's (Santana Row) serve family-style and can accommodate large groups. A Bellagio (Campbell) can field a large group and is willing to work to host it to your requirements. The Basin in Saratoga is nice but doesn't serve family-style.
Park Place in Cupertino just remodeled to make room for more weddings and corporate receptions, so check out their new space. I'd eat there first, though (we found the food to be uneven, so choose wisely). http://www.thecypresshotel.com/cypdini/index.html
My favorite Cupertino restaurant is Red Crane (modern Japanese) but your group would pretty much take up the entire place. Beautiful, delicious food, and well worth a visit. http://www.yellowpages.com/info-LMS74372018/The-Red-Crane/maps?from=qpibp-nonmi
You might want to consider Beque Korean in Santa Clara: it's not in your stated cities, but the food is wonderful and it's fun to cook in their new spacious booths.
