do you need reservations for tonkatsu restaurants??

i was wondering if reservations are needed for tonkatsu restaurants.. anybody know?

    There are thousands of tonkatsu restaurants in Japan. Could you narrow it down a bit? Or do you think all tonkatsu places would have the same rules?

      i was thinking about ponta, or other famous tonkatsu restaurants...

      I've never needed one, but then I've never spent more than JPY1500 on a tonkatsu lunch.

        I guess you could make the reservations if you felt the need to make sure you didn't have to wait. Perhaps if your party is large. For a popular place like Maisen, be prepared to wait at mealtimes, although it moves pretty quickly and the place is pretty large.
