Restaurant suggestion for Kennebunkport

I am spending the night in Kennebunkport while visiting for a wedding. I am looking for a great seafood restaurant (lobster, lobster, lobster) for dinner and great breakfast restaurant. Any suggestions? This Californian needs to experience some East Coast culture!

  1. San Diego gal that went to Kennebunkport last September and I gotta say that I want to have a second home in Maine in Kennebunkport..incredible place..so much lobster, blueberry ice cream and pie, seafood chowder..I was in heaven..
We stayed at the White Barn Inn which is over the top luxury romance and food..
Mabel's lobster claw and On the Marsh were excellent but I am sure you will get better advice for people that go all the time.
You are going to have so much fun!

    1. Hurricane, in the center of Kennbunkport has many excellent fish dishes, lobster, raw bar etc. We ate there last week and it was very crowded, the service was a bit slow but the food was excellent. If you want to really splurge, get there rich and ritzy baked stuffed lobster. ($45). Mabel's is very popular. Enjoy.

      1. For take-out lobster rolls, go to the Clam Shack, adjacent to the Dock Square bridge. It's just a little shack, but it's got a great rep for both lobster rolls and fried clams. For the lobster shack experience, give Nunan's, in Cape Porpoise, a try. For fancier digs, Pier 77 is a great choice, and it overlooks lobster-boat filled Cape Porpoise Harbor (less fancy pub style underneath at The Ramp). On the Marsh is another good spot for fine dining. For lobster stew, try the Wayfarer in Cape Porpoise.

For breakfast: All Day Breakfast, in Lower Village on Route 9 west of the light.

        1. I agree with all recommendations, but I have another one. It's not a typical lobster shack at all but a nice, casual restaurant with good food. It's called Bandaloop and it's located on Ocean Ave in Kennebunkport.

Their ingredients are all fresh and the concept is a little different in that you select your entree (lots of fresh fish choices) and then you select from a variety of sauces to go with your entree. A starch, usually rice, and fresh veggies accompany the meal. The small kitch is open to diners and I found it to be a wonderful choice!

I agree bandaloop is an excellent restaurant. However, the OP wanted lobster, lobster, lobster and I I don't recall lobster or many fish choices on their menu.
