Appetizers and Happy Hour Near Beverly Hills?

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good place to get drinks after work and light (as in not a full mean) food in the Beverly Hills area that is not super expensive? Something along the lines of 3rd stop (but not there because I am looking for a change in scenery)? Does such a place exist? Has anyone tried the Backstage Cafe? I am the social coordinator for the week and need help! Thanks in advance.

Chaya has a good happy hour and appetizers.

I'd stay away from Backstage Cafe; their cheese-sticks are great, but the drinks are over-priced

Nic's Martini is decent, not the most layed back tho.

The Crescent on Crescent Drive is pretty good, nice outdoor patio and great desserts.

Also, I really like the Palihouse on Holloway at La Cienega for drinks, its a more-french/less-gothic feeling Chateau Marmont lobby.

I'd also suggest El Carmen, on Third just a bit east of La Cienega, if you are in the mood for tacos.

Nicks martini lounge -- not on the cheap side, a little more shishi -- but good drinks and food. They do have a $5 martini happy hour and specials on food

McCormick & Schmicks at 2 Rodeo should fit the bill perfectly. Super inexpensive apps during happy hour.

We're talking fullsize cheeseburgers at McCormick & Schmick's for like $2.
