Strawberry Jam [split from Ontario]

Don't be afraid of making your own jam. I decided about 15 years ago to give it a try and it's very simple. Get the correct gear and the recipe in the Bernardin's box should work just fine.
I make the freezer jam and it's head and shoulders above anything you get in a grocery store.
Making jam really is easy. Just follow the directions precisely. If it says to stir for 2 minutes, stir for exactly 2 minutes.
Instead of Bernardin, I use Certo - low sugar version. Regular Certo/Bernardin use more sugar than fruit.
I used to make cherry jam every year but since I moved to Ottawa I have hardly seen any Ontario cherries and I don't like using the buckets of frozen (makes too large a batch).
