I'll be in Rome, Modena, and Parma region in a few weeks. I have a great idea for a small plates/tapes style restaurants but don't know if Italians do this in Italy. Can anyone suggestion this type of restaurant? And/or must have street food? Any suggestions would be helpful.

  1. go for the "Pizza al Taglio", or square pizza that you buy and eat standing up. :)

    1. When in Rome.....you must try Cul-de-Sac.

      1. The concept is not traditional in Rome, but it is traditional in Venice, where the small plates are known as cicheti. I know of one restaurant in Rome that offers cicheti and uses that term, but unfortunately I don't think it's very good. It's 'Gusto Osteria, via della Frezza.
