Bananas Foster

I would appreciate any recommendations for restaurants in the DC area that prepare bananas foster, particularly if they prepare the dessert tableside. Many thanks.

Woo Lae Oak in Tysons calls them "Angry Monkey" and flames them tableside.

acadiana was my first guess since it's supposed to be new orleans style food. but according to their online menu, they don't serve it. my guess would be trying some other southern-style places.

Cafe Renaissance in Vienna. They do a lot of tableside dishes. Saaed is the owner and the place is right out of the 1970s, very warm and romantic. You can get Steak Diane prepared tableside, or most of the desserts -- I like the Flaming Cafe Renaissance (Grand Marnier over ice cream) or crepe suzette for two or bananas foster for two -- and I've had the tableside Irish Coffee prepared by Saeed. Spectacular.

The last time I was at Cafe Renaissance, there were three older couples dining together to celebrate their wedding anniversaries. We had already been given dessert (complimentary chocolate mousse cake for my birthday) that was very delicious, but I was insanely jealous when I started to smell the bananas foster being prepared for the three couples. It really smelled like heaven. Hopefully, after my next trip back, I'll actually be able to comment on the taste!
