Trader Joe's Coming to Stonestown

My daughter just called me from Stonestown and told me that there's a sign in the old Copeland's sporting goods store saying that Trader Joe's is going into that spot. It's between McDonald's and Borders on the southern end of the shopping center.

    1. I almost always find lots of parking on the south side of Stonestown -- that area of the parking lot is rather lightly populated -- just the side near the Borders/Nordstrom entrances and the B of A atm is crowded.

    2. I was hoping they would put a TJ at 32nd & Clement, or at this point, I'd like any supermarket to fill the vacant space.

Lunardi's wanted to go into the old Albertsons location, but the owner of the property wants 50,000 a month for rent.

          That's probably why it's vacant.

I've heard a rumor there may be a Whole Foods coming into that spot.

I just read in the Richmond Review that the WF deal fell through, but that there's a good chance that Fresh & Easy will be the next tenant. However, they are still waiting for their alcohol license from the ABC.
