Restaurants between NYC and Cromwell, CT

Am visiting Cromwell CT on Friday afternoon from NYC. Need to find a nice breakfast spot between NYC and Cromwell, and also a nice dinner spot for the return trip between Cromwell and NYC. Looking for something fairly nice to extremely nice on both. Cost no object. No particular cuisine- just something really nice- looking to please out-of-town guests. Am traveling along Rts 95 and 91. for breakfast on the way up is City Limits Diner in Stamford....right off 95...on the way back stop in New Haven at Ibiza for excellent Spanish food in an adult (not stuffy) setting
