Hi - I'm visiting LA from Chicago for the weekend. Could anyone recommend an asian (preferably thai or other southeast asian) restaurant in the W. Hollywood area that is BYOB and has good seafood? Most important is that it's BYO.

many thanks

You won't find much good Thai or any other Asian in West Hollywood, but I recommend you drive just a bit farther to East Hollywood and try Jitlada. I know they let you bring wine, because we did, but I'm not sure what corkage is. I think since there were eight or so of us and we ordered a ton of food they probably didn't charge us, but it might be different for fewer people. It is by far the best Thai seafood in the city (not to exaggerate, but one of the best in the whole country by all accounts).

Chowpatty's right on! Jitlada is the way to go. They have lots of seafood dishes. We tried the salmon with mint and basil the other night, it it was delicious. It has large 1" cubes of tasty, tender salmon, and the sauce was perfect.

Jonathan Gold (Pulitzer Prize winning food editor of the LA Weekly) stated that the mussels at Jitlada are among the top 10 dishes in all of LA.

We also liked the dry curry with pork and the salted prawn is good if you like the whole prawn (unpeeled, with head).
