best mojitos in the city?

ah- summer is here, and that means one thing: cool, refreshing minty mojitos (preferably sipped on a sunny patio).

i was just wondering where everyone's favourite mojito is made. i'm also open to trying riffs on mojitos with unusual ingredients added to the mix as well.

thanks!

As always, I will pipe in with my recommendation for the mojitos at Fire on the East Side near Yonge and Wellesley. According to their website (http://www.fireontheeastside.ca) they still have "Crazy Mojitos Wednesday" where you can get their very excellent 2oz renditions for $6.

We tried the mojitos at Julie's based on a strong recommendation only a few weeks after trying Fire on the East Side's and we were quite disappointed. Not in the same league at all, and more expensive to boot.

Tomi Kro makes a great mojito, they use spiced dark rum and white, fresh mint and fresh squeezed lime, very tasty - great margaritas too!

I'm gonna add Lolita's Lust to this list. Was there last night and really enjoyed them. They also do a pomegranite mojito.

lula lounge has the regular mojito and a number of variations of it (not all successful but fun to try).

I haven't actually had a Mojito at the Paddock (yet!) but they do a great job of many other cocktails, i bet it would be good there...I like their interior best but they do have a small patio out front too...

The Drake's patio has a fantastic one - made with Applewood Estate aged dark rum rather than the generic Bacardi White. The bartenders really put some muscle into muddling the mint. Delicious...(and $11!).

I agree. I had a very good time last week with the mojitos served on the Drake patio.

Had a nice mojito on the Bymark patio the other day... poured with a very heavy hand, by the way. Love that.

Clearly a favourite summer topic. Discussed at some length last July:

At least two of the places on that thread are no longer in business. Perhaps it's time for this year's model.

Mojitos, such a great summer drink! I've had them at the Boulevard Cafe - really good.
