I suppose the whole world has known about this for yonks and I'm late to the party as usual, but I discovered these Banana Babies in the freezer section at my local co-op the other day; I guess they sell them at Whole Foods and TJ's, too.

Really a delicious hot-summer-day kind of treat, and healthy, too. I tired the dark chocolate, which is basically a half banana, dipped in dark chocolate, on a stick--and frozen. They offer peanut dipped, milk chocolate and "full sized" as well, but I've not tried those.

My wife walked in one day and said "here, try this". I asked what it was and she said it was half a banana, frozen and dipped in chocolate. After a little negotiating I tried it and it was wonderful. Who would have guessed that a frozen banana could be so smooth and creamy?

I scored a bag of bananas from the markdown table. Peeled and quartered them, put them in a ziplock bag and into the freezer. Weeks later, thinking of a smoothie, I took them out. They were an ugly brown color. Tossed them.

I've never seen them in the market, but they were a staple of our County Fair must-have treats every summer! Mmmmmm, frozen bananas dipped in chocolate with chopped peanuts on the outside. Sooooo good! Especially on scorching hot days when we'd be in our heavy band or color guard uniforms for the parades!

I haven't tried this brand, but I remember my mom would make these as a treat in the 70s.
