ISO Japanese hole-in-wall near The Grove

This is really random, but a while back I remember reading online about a Japanese mom-and-pop restaurant that serves lots of organic homestyle dishes. I vaguely remember it being near The Grove...near Third and La Brea.... I think. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Inaka, between First and Second on La Brea might be what you're thinking of, it's macrobiotic. Food seems very bland to my salt-and-meat accustomed palate.

At Third and La Cienega is Mishima, which is fun, but not organic.

Are you thinking of Inaka, a Japanese macrobiotic restaurant? If so, Inaka's located at 131 S. La Brea Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90036, (323) 936-9353.

Another macrobiotic restaurant, not a mom/pop place, called M Café de Chaya, that's 1/2-block West of LaBrea at 7119 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90036, (323) 525-0588

Could be Hirozen. Family owned and lots of family dishes.
