Ristorante Olivio in Arlington

Going there Saturday evening for the first time and I was wondering if any chowhound had been there and if so, what your experiences were and if there was any dish you would recommend. Thanks !!

  1. My husband and I really enjoy the food. If you turn the menu over -- or perhaps it's on the very last page -- you'll see a menu item for 3-pasta sampler. It's fantastic. I remember it has duck ragu, bolognese, and another kind of sauce. Enjoy!

Thanks for mentioning the pasta sampler. The sampler on Saturday was a two pasta sampler, spinach pasta with a duck ragu and papperdelle with bolognese sauce. The pasta with the duck ragu was excellent. They offered an appetizer special beet salad that two people in the party had and both loved it. For the main meal. one person had the salmon special and another had the butternut squash ravioli and again both loved their meals. Overall an enjoyable experience and a place where I will return.

I'm very glad you enjoyed it! Olivio always seems to be overlooked here. It's been too long for us. We're going back this week.

    2. I've been there 2x's. Food is pretty good and fairly reasonable, not the best Italian, but fine if you don't get too exotic. If memory serves, last time I had a tasty veal shank, fish was also good.

      1. I've had a couple of good meals there... its in a nice spot, close to the Capitol Theater, and is one of group of Arlington restaurants that has a full liquor license, so you can get a mixed drink if you wished.

Is the service quick? I was thinking of checking Olivios out before seeing a movie at the capitol tomorrow night, but we will only have about 45 minutes to eat.
