In New York, I've had incredible vegetarian dim sum -- replete with an astounding array of fake meat dishes. Any suggestions on where to go in the LA area? Thanks.

There's a vegetarian Chinese place in Granada Hills, at 17823 Chatsworth Street, called Vegetable Delight. My kids love it - give them a call...818-360-3997 - it may be the answer.

are you looking for steamed buns and traditional dim sums or a variety of fake meat dishes? give me an area of town and a few specifics I can probably point you to a place. Although it's a total dive, one place I like for veggie buns, dumplings etc is Rose's Bakery in San Gabriel. Most -- but not all -- of the quality fake meat is out that direction

Thanks for the response, Kathy. In New York I go to a place on Pell called Vegetarian Dim Sum House. They have fake B-B-Q pork buns, shu mai, sticky rice in lotus leaves, mock shrimp dumplings, etc. They have about 20 or 30 dim sum selections. I'll try Rose's Bakery -- where in San Gabriel is it? -- and any dim sum places you recommend!

Check out Happy Family Vegetarian restaurant. It is amazingly delicious how they do their "meats" with mushrooms, tofu, gluten, etc.

Happy Family and New Happy Family are great. Not so much for the Dim Sum as for the fake meat dishes...
Cashew Chicken, Sweet and Sour Pork. My favorite were the Salt and Pepper Shitake Mushrooms. 99 Ranch has lots of Veggie Dim Sum but you will have to heat it up yourself. Very reasonable and very good. Scallion Pancakes, Veggies & Rice wrapped in Lotus Leaf, Taro..Red Bean..or Red Date..Steamed Buns.
