Sausage in Schenectady

I will be in Schenectady soon and was told there's a good source for fresh sausage there. It sounded like the guy makes 40 (?) or so pounds fresh every morning. However, the person who told me about this wasn't sure of the details...does this sound familiar to anyone?

  1. There are a few places:

Sindoni's: available in many grocery stores
Cappiello's: They have their own store on Broadway
Munifolds's (spelling is likely wrong): used to have a store around Altamont Avenue in Rotterdam

I'm sure there are others but it's been 10+ years since I lived there. I usually go to Cappiello's as they have many great items in addition to great sausage (link and loose).

Thank you TonyO! I will give some of them a try. Used to live there myself, my family moved away about 15 years ago.

    2. I'm a little late in finding this but you might be thinking of Garofalos on North Center St downtown. To find North Center St, look for where Broadway hits Union St...the other side of the intersection from where Broadway starts is N Center. Garofalos has been there forever, but it seems to be one of Schenectady's biggest secrets since it took me 40 years to learn about them! The sausage is always fresh and homemade, and they also sell a number of imported items like pastas and sauces, and the last time I was there they were selling Amish made butter as well.
