Sri Langkan in SFV?

WheresTheGrub Jun 12, 2008 09:16 AM

Been searching the board and can't seem to find anything in the Valley. Curry Bowl in Tarzana, was mentioned in a post along with the comment that if one wanted Sri Langkan they had to go to the Valley.

I don't know of any here.

Craving some hoppers!

Also, if you really want a big choice of hoppers, don't miss the Sri Lankan festival held on the Santa Monica promenade. Last year it was the last weekend of August.

The only place for Sri Lankan food is the Curry Bowl in Tarzana. They probably still have their all you can eat hopper buffet on Saturday nights (egg and plain hoppers made fresh). I've found their curries (from the buffet) to be very greasy and not very good - but their take out sting hoppers and rice packets have always been spot on.

Make sure you try some of the 'short-eats' (patties, cutlets, etc.) in the case on the counter...

There's also Sri Lankan Delight (grocery store type place) (down the street on Ventura) if you want to buy curry powder, chutney, etc to make at home.
