Houston - Healthy Good Dining

Does anyone have any recommendations of a fun, good restuarant that serves healthy food. It is for my husband and I and he is not the health food type so a place that offers something for him would be nice. Any ideas?!?!

  1. I'm a huge fan of Ziggy's and I don't tend to eat healthy food. You can also check out Hungry's. FYI, both of these restaurants have multiple locations if the ones I listed are too far away.

    Ziggy's Healthy Grill
    2202 W Alabama St, Houston, TX 77098

    Hungry's Cafe & Bistro
2356 Rice Blvd, Houston, TX 77005

Thanks! Do either of these places have outdoor seating?

Actually, both do! And, Ziggy's is very dog friendly and you'll usually see owner bring their well behaved animals on the weekends.

i second the ziggy's rec. i eat there all the time. your hubby can get a burger and fries or onion rings.

barnaby's also has some healthy options on the menu like the turkey burger (i skip the extra calories in the pesto it comes dressed with), salads (i love the lebanese chicken fattoush - go light on the dressing), sandwiches, and grilled salmon w/brown rice and steamed broccoli.

the veggie burger at beck's is very healthy and the grilled veggies (although a little heavy on the olive oil) are both delicious.

sushi is the healthiest option if you can drag him there. i like sage 400 a lot.

Yep, Ziggy's is a great place. Healthy and tastes great.

Barnaby's is also great - anything you order is about twice as big as it needs to be, but the leftovers are worth it if you can manage to stop eating long enough to ask for a takeout box.

Daily Review Cafe has some good healthy options and it's a nice place to sit in the sun. I tend to get salads when I go there because they are just so darn good.

Hobbit is also a relatively healthy option. I say relatively because the portions are friggin huge. Make sure to take half home if you order any of the sandwiches.

Baba Yega is healthy and a little quirky. It's fun to go there for brunch, but then again, we're talking healthy, not overindulgent :)

There are some quality healthy options in Houston, and I hope you find one you enjoy. Good luck!
