I have to say this is something I struggle with quite frequently!! Monroeville tends to filled with mostly mediocre chain restaurants. My fav restaurants in the area are... (in no particular order) Mad Mex, Taipei Toyko (eat in only, take out tends to be iffy), La Cucina Dolce, Vincent's Pizza (in plum, also can be hit or miss), D's Hot Dog Shop (decent food, good drink, can be quite pricey though), the rivertowne pourhouse (has even worse food, brewed in house beer are worth it) and then Labriola's is good when you don't feel like driving to Penn Mac. Green Mango will soon being opening a restaurant at penn circle. Unfortunately Monroeville still has some catching up to do, so a drive into the city is usually need.
