I will be staying at Pine Mountain Lake this weekend for the first time. I've searched the board and got some good rec's for Sonora that I'll probably try. I'd like to find something a little closer to the lake though...any ideas? I plan on trying Comacho's (sp?) in Sonora and Whoa Nellie's Deli...not sure where that's at yet though...
Camacho's shut its doors a couple months ago. There's an Italian place going in their shortly.
You'll pass through Jamestown, so stop at Azzo's on Main Street. It's our favorite, great selection of large and small plates, fun atmosphere. The Mexican place in Groveland is pretty good, and the Iron Door Saloon has good food, too. It's worth a stop just to see one of the oldest saloon's in the Gold Country.
Enjoy your visit!
There is two new sushi places in Sonora, Koto on Washington Street is our favorite. There is also an Indian place, also on Washington, that I've heard is good. The Diamondback (still on Washington, across and up the street from former location) is worth the usual wait for a table.
