Has anyone checked out the Ebell for Chinese Banquet? They want me to go through the initial application process before having their chef plan and price a "Chinese" menu for me? I'm concerned they might not how how to REALLY make Chinese food!

What did you end up doing? I am looking for a place for my banquet, would love to hear what happened.

Maybe you need to go to a site that will let you bring in your own caterer, what is the occasion?

Yeah, i'm looking into other options, but Eastern Pearl Catering is not doing a good job in responding to me (via email or phone- it sounds like she's super ill). Anyway, the Ebell is really nice but the kitchen buy out fee is $12K. If I go with their in-house caterer then it's $3000. But again, don't know if I can trust them with Chinese food.

Ask for a tasting, that is something that all caterers will do for a large party.
