Concert in Irvine . . . Where to eat

I am going to a concert at the venue formerly known as Irvine Meadows and need some advice on where to eat. The concert is Saturday and I am looking for some good food and drink before the show. Preferrably in Irvine or Costa Mesa. Any advice???

Great suggestion! And close to boot.

Don't know your timeframe (guessing very leisurely), but just a heads up - they close between brunch and dinner on Saturdays. Reopen at 5pm.

On the bright side, their cheese and wine shop (don't think you can stay and eat) is open from 9-9 daily.

My advice is to pack a great picnic dinner, get there early, and tailgate. That's what we do every time we go to Verizon and we have a blast.

What kind of food would you prefer? If you like Japanese, right across from Verizon is a place called Fukada.

And of course, there's all the chain-y places at the Irvine Spectrum.

We were looking for something kind of nice, but not superfancy. I want to have good food and really good drinks. I was thinking of Onotria Wine Bar in Costa Mesa or there was a couple of places in Irvine on Zagat that sounded okay.

Onotria is wonderful, but would be more upscale than what you are looking for. I second the rec for Old Vine. You could also go to Javier's at the Irvine Spectrum-more upscale Mexican and a great drink/cocktail menu.
