Good Vietnamese in Los Angeles

Why are there no good Vietnamese restaurants in Los Angeles? All the good ones seem to be in OC. Am I wrong?

For the most part, you have to go where the communities live. If in LA, try the SGV.

Doesn't exist. Go to the SGV or OC.

As for why, I would speculate it is because there are no large vietnamese groups around LA except for SGV. Thus, the vietnamese restaurants that are around are catering to non-ethnic tastes.

I love Vietnamese food but I have not found a decend one in LA. There's a place called Absolutely Pho-bulous on LaCienega that serves decent pho and other simple Vietnamese dishes like noodles, egg rolls and spring rolls and Crustacean in Beverly Hills which are owned by a Vietnamese family but serve more of a Pan-Asian menu with some Vietnamese accents and flavourings. Besides that, I have to drive down to see my parent in Orange County and drag them out to a meal at Vien Dong on Brookhurst with me.
