Restaurants on The Hill St Louis-Please recommend one

We are going to be in St Louis next Sunday and my friend said that we have to eat at a restaurant 'ON THE HILL". She recommended Charlie Gitto's and Lorenzo's Trattoria. Someone else recommended LoRusso's. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

  1. Lorenzo's is more modern Italian, and it's quite good. I'm very fond of Gian-Tony's, too, which does more traditional Italian.

    1. I don't frequent the hill on a regular basis but we did have a meal at Giovanni's and it was good. I don't know if I can justify spending that kinda dough on pasta dishes...but for what it's worth they were pretty good. It has that fancy, white table cloth thing going on...

Thank you for your responses. We had a terriffic meal at Lorenzo's Trattoria ( my husband could wear shorts there). We started off with an appetizer of toasted raviolis (not on the menu) and they were great. My husband ordered the Osso Buco which was delicious. My daughter had the Chicken Spedini which she loved. I ordered the Ristto with veal and chantrelle mushrooms which was also tasty (although if I went back I'd order the Osso Buco). The food was great and the prices very reasonable and we'd go back if we are ever in St. Louis again.
