Second Rio Grande. Great Margaritas, but don't go if you are also looking for great food.

The Heights - 2867 Broadway, btw. 111th & 112th. They have a roof and the magaritas are awesome!

Sure, there might be more fantastic outdoor venues, but as far as amazing bang for the delicious buck outdoor margs, you have our choice of Arte Pasta on Greenwich Ave (food is god awful though), Harry's Burritos right down the street, and Blockheads on 33rd and 2nd. ** Please note that none of these terrific margs cost more than $3.50 each.

Los Dados in the Meatpacking. They have cucumber margaritas that are very good. You can see everyone's trendy little dogs too, if you like that kind of thing.

Blockheads, 50th St between 9th/10th Aves. Very cheap frozen margaritas in several flavors, big outdoor patio.

I like sitting outside at the Dos Caminos in Soho or midtown and having a margarita and guac -- though they can be sticklers about giving you a table if you're not eating.

Thanks for all the suggestions, i actually ended up at The Yard (at the Soho Grand). It was a great backyard and it was a bit pricey, but totally worth it, they had fans and misters, which was necessary at 95 degrees, and the margaritas were HUGE. They also had great guacamole!!
