Recc a North County SD caterer for relaxed babyshower.
I tired to do a search but didn't turn up anything promising. I'm in Solana Beach San Diego and my Mom and friends are throwig us a baby shower in mid July. The party will be here starting about 1.30 pm and take place in the garden with the doors open to the house in case it's hot I imagine. There will be about 30 guests. We are forgoing the usual fancier baby shower fare for a more relaxed beach/surf "theme". My husband and his friends will be at the party so I want them to feel comfortable and have a good time- so no crustless sandwiches : ) People will be welcome to wear Hawaiian shirts, boardshorts, cotton dresses, whatever.
My Mom suggested Savory which looks really yummy but I don't knwo if thehy have anythgin a bit more hearty than tea. I thought about tacos or Mexican but it doesn't really appeal to my pregnant tummy right now. I'm not sure of the exact budget as she told me to jsut look for somethig reasonable. My Mom asked me to do this part of the planning as she has her hands full (sick relative) and my friends are located in LA with no knowledge of SD food. Since I won't be partaking in the buckets of frosty beer or pitchers of cocktails they are planning I want some satisfying food : ) I'm not big on meat these days (pg hormones) and been favoring carbs, salads, things with cheese, fruit, mixed dishes like pasta salads- the sort of things you would get at a nice hotel bruch (the ritz brunch is my favorite). IWe love organic fresh foods but I know that is a tall order for catering so I don't expect organic at all. That said I will certainly want some meat for the boys.
Bonus if you have a cake reccomendation. I was thinking of maybe setting up some iced treats (I might just make a batch of peach ice cream if our tree would hurry up and mature). Thank you for reading this long a$$ post. HpefullY i got the relative details in- I'm sure my pregnancy mushed brain forgot soemthing crucial but I tried.
