Does anyone know where I can buy starter culture for yogurt?

I am specifically looking for yogourmet probiotic starter but any leads for starter would be appreciated....thanks!

  1. Most healthfood stores, or Google yogourmet probiotic starter and you will get a lot of results.

I have no idea what "probiotic" starter might be, but I bought regular starter at the h/food store near the corner of Broadway and 75th once upon a time and it seemed like a "regular" item, as nywoman implies. I'd bet Whole Foods sells it, maybe Fairway, upstairs in the organic section, too?

        I was up in that area on Tuesday, and was sad to see that the "Health Nuts" store on 75th & Broadway has closed.

          Oy... there's goes the neighborhood. Again... Not that I ever shopped there much but still...

      2. Any yogurt (meeting your particulars) that says it contains live cultures will work.

          Precisely. Plain yogurt is the centuries-old starter for another batch.
