Royal York Hotel Honey Moon Suite- LOL
I found this article about the Royal York Hotel making its own honey, and I thought that it is such a fantastic idea, given all that is happening in the global food market, and with the bee population. I am no fan of bees (I hate the suckers) but, I love the food that is made with their help so...

love bees (hate wasps) and what a neat story. Their rooftop garden’s been there now for 10 years now, at 18 storeys high. Good on them. Not just herbs but also things like eggplants, gooseberries and edible flowers. I didn’t make it but the garden was open to the public last summer as part of some anniversary thing.
I think it’s great a major hotel has committed to locally sourced and organically grown products as part of its everyday food operations.
Another restaurant that grows some of its own food is 360 at the CN Tower. They’ve got a garden for herbs and things like lavendar, potatoes, peppers and tomatoes down on a hillside near the base.
Other places that I know of with their own herb/veggie gardens are Cowbell (on the roof) and Black Dog Pub in Scarborough/Pickering.

But with all of the air pollution and car exhausts would these actually be healthy? Have you ever ran your finger across your car after it has sat downtown for a couple of days... it is not dirt it is a black oily substance... that same coating would be all over the garden.
