Shrinking number of "My Chow" recent posts displayed

The "my recent posts" page 1 on My Chow has shrunk down to 25 posts, making it pretty useless these days. I'd much rather have more lines on the first and only page (e.g., 70 to 100) and do away with the subsequent pages. I don't see myself checking much beyond page 2, and certainly not page 162 in the current format for possible new posts to threads that will float to the top of the back pages.

  1. 25 posts is fine for me, and I'd imagine for the vast majority of site users. I'd prefer they offer that as a default and allow people to increase/decrease according to personal preference. And of course I'd prefer that posts would float to the first page no matter how old the thread is that's being responded to.

Right now, I'd imagine they're tweaking everything they can to just make the site work again, so I'm willing to wait it out and let the engineers restore the site to working order before offering my feedback on the changes. I'd hope they'll post here to let us know when they're done and invite people to offer feedback at that time.

Agree strongly that latest response date should trump original post date in the order the posts are displayed. Shouldn't this feature be a way to keep tabs on responses, regardless of the date the thread was started? If I have to search 5, 10, 15 pages back, how is that easier than having to go to the original board and wade through everything?

It's a bug, not a feature, and it's on the list of problems for Engineering to fix.

Any word on when this may be fixed? It's been two months now. I just clicked on my last page of 'my posts', just to see what I was like when I first started on CH, and found that there were replies to some of them that I never saw.

Page 1 of MyChow is limited to 24 threads. Is it possible to increase the number of threads back to 72 now if it's going to take a long time to fix the problem?

My understanding is that the shrinking was to reduce impact on the servers and keep errors down.

Oh well, thinking that the site would have revved up on the server side to support the new features, it didn't hurt to ask. Personally, I'd rather have a working MyChow function than lists to nowhere, but maybe we shouldn't have to choose.
