Las Vegas Surf & Turf
My husband and I are looking for a great steak and seafood dinner for a Saturday night in Vegas. We're going for Italian on Fri. night to B+B. From related postings, I was convinced that N9NE would be a good choice, but then heard from a friend that it was very hip and loud with lots of bachelor parties and fancy gals. We are both 30, so we're not looking for quiet and boring, but not necessarily uber-hip. I considered PRIME, but that almost looks too formal. Is there something good in the middle that's on the strip?
Price range: under $350 total
The Palm, perhaps, in the Forum Shops at Caesars. I don't know if they always have a surf and turf combo on the menu, but I'm sure they would do it. If nothing else, one of you could get a steak and the get a lobster and share. Both their lobsters and steak are very good. I enjoy sitting at the "outside" tables in the mall.
Heh, N9NE and Prime are polar opposites when it comes to atmosphere. Personally, I can only take either in small doses and very sparingly.
Try Stripsteak at Mandalay Bay. It's got the hipper sort of vibe that N9NE has without being over the top - and the food it great. Foie Gras Slidders to start, grain fed NY for dinner, finish up with the Macallan Butterscotch Pudding with Warm Beignets and a glass of their house inflused Rock & Rye. You'll thank me later.
You could also try Craftsteak, which is actually my absolute favorite. The vibe is casual, relaxed, and upbeat without being loud or obnoxious.
