Chateau du Lac
Located on Metairie Rd., Chateau du Lac is becoming a favorite of mine for dining room and bar dining.

some of my repeat apps' orders are les moules, les escargots w/boursin, foie gras, and the salmon app and pate (if on the specials), and do not miss the mushroon strudel and pomme frites.
for entrees, love the lamb rack, mussels and crab au gratin, and dover sole (if on the specials).
lunch is great as well w/2 course and 3 course plat du jour at $20 and $25 respectively or a la carte ordering; the steak sandwich is very good and so is the croque madame.
desserts are heaven! the wine list is very french, and the service has always been outstanding.
Metairie is often overlooked by locals and by visitors looking to dine in the Fr.Qtr/CBD or Uptown. Every time I go here, I see chefs from other restaurants eating here. bon appetit!

Had another fabulous meal at CDL. Started with the Duck Three Ways App; ask the Chef to prepare this special of Duck Pate, Foie Gras, and Duck Terrine. Their cheese selection is outstanding, be sure to get a plate for before or after dinner. I've mentioned the mushroom strudel (Friand aux Champignons), and it was as great again. one of the specials was the Boar Tenderloin, which was cooked to perfection. I hope they (and I) do it again soon. For dessets, the special cherry claufoutie was spectacular. Also be sure to try their sorbets: coconut, passionfruit, mango, and/or blackberry.
enjoyed the Bouvet Rose and the Chateau Recougne Bordeaux Supereur. Cheers!›3 Replies
