Dilemma in DUMBO

carolinerex Jun 4, 2008 10:52 AM

I forgot my wallet this morning, which means my lunch options are limited to either a) dumpster diving, or b) maximizing the $4.50 I managed in change I found in my purse.

So, is there a place in DUMBO where I can get something good (read: no pizza or bagels) for less than $5?

Thanks 'hounds!

There are few good places PERIOD in dumbo. Cheap takes you to the salad bar at Foreger's, but it's not so good. It also takes you to Front St Pizza, terrible. If you feel like a long walk the best cheap eats are the Atlantic Ave middle eastern places. A really good walk, but it might be worth it.

I learned that first lesson the hard way - other than Forager's and the bagel place, the pickin's here are pretty slim.

For the record, I ended up taking a lunchtime bike ride to Court St, near Borough Hall, for cheap Mexican. It was decent lunch, as to be expected for under $5.
