Frisee in Edmonton?

Fellow Edmontonian Chowhounders,

Have just returned home from a trip to Spain where I had some lovely salads starring Frisee (curly endive) as the only green. You could buy it in many of the markets -- huge heads of pale yellow to green curly leaves. see picture: http://www.theworldwidegourmet.com/pr...

Does anyone know where I can buy a head of this salad green here in Edmonton? Tried Save on Foods on Jasper (no surprise they didn't have it there), Superstore in the West End and the Italian Centre on 95th street -- with no luck.

Haven't been home long enough for the farmer's markets -- maybe there?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi Doc,
I bought some about a week and a half ago at the new Sobeys on Jasper and 104 Street. I love it so I buy it whenever I see it. IIRC, I've also seen it at the Sunterra market in Lendrum from time to time. I have lots of success growing it also.
