I always recommend 22 bowens, The Mooring and Castle Hill the food is always terrific and you can not beat the view. I have heard alot of great things about the Whitehorse Tavern...They have a great new chef there, West Deck, and Pronto are always good as is Sardellas...they are all with in walking distance to any night life after as well. Tuckers is wonderful, off of Broadway & Yesterdays is great with a terrific selection of on tap beers and a great wine list -the food on both sides of yesterdays is great.

Salvation Cafe is my favorite spot in Newport. Fun & funky, good food, nice patio out back.
