Sarafin Turkish Wine in NYC?

To be honest, I did not think I would find a decent glass of wine in Istanbul and I was pretty much right, until I went to Mehmet' Gur's restaurant Mikla and discovered Sarafin. As a sidenote, Mikla is simply amazing - it has the whole package - great food, amazing wine, and breathtaking views.

OK, back to the dilemma at hand...

The Sarafin Chardonnay was perhaps one of the best (if not the best) Chardonnay I have had. Perfectly buttery and smooth. Oh how I wanted to buy a case and bring it with me, but alas, I was not traveling directly back to the States and it could not be done. And I have now come to realize that the winery only ships to consumers within Turkey. Hence, I am wondering if any wine shops or restaurants carry Sarafin in Manhattan. Any tips or suggestions for places to look would be highly appreciated. And, if you do run across it, I highly recommend you give it a try. You will not be disappointed.

Enjoy it. And if you ask them you might be able to find out where they got it. It was very funny when I saw this post because literally seconds before I was talking to a friend about the above restaurant.

I had the Sarafin in Istanbul as well and really enjoyed it. I'm not sure where you can find it, but you might try Turks & Frogs in the west village. One of the owners is Turkish so if they don't serve it he might know where to direct you!
