        <content>Summer, my least favorite season.  If you hate heat as much as I do, when you are finished cooking, put a kettle or covered pot of water on the hot burner. After 5 minutes, dump the hot water and repeat.  If you want to conserve energy, use the hot water for dishwashing or housecleaning.  Do the same with a hot oven, or put empty sheet pans on the racks. After 10 minutes or so, remove the hot pans and put them outdoors until cool.  Your kitchen will still be hot, but it helps a little, and takes some of the burden off your fans or air conditioning.   </content>
