Kansas City Memories Post deleted

Recently I added comments to an existing post. I guess that the mods didn't like my post, which is fine I know they must have had some reason, but is it possible to delete my comments and reinstall the post? It was very popular, I think almost 100 posts and had a lot of good memories and history. It was great to read about a lot of places that have been gone for a long time and see how others appreciated them. Please reconsider yanking the entire thread, thanks. I won't post on it any more.

  1. The post wasn't removed because of your comments. As we note in our posting guidelines:

"Chowhound's goal is to help people find great chow right now. Gossip about rumored restaurants is off topic for our site, as is "do you remember?..." nostalgia discussion. Neither lead to better eating, and Chowhound works best when we focus on that narrow mission."

The moderation team doesn't see every post made to the site, and sometimes off -topic discussions can get by us for a while (that one evidently got by us for 5 years!), and although we know people enjoy such threads, we do remove them when we finally spot them.

Thanks for the explanation! Some of the places are still open but most are long gone ~
