Rallo's on Fort Ave - Recent Reviews?

MarcDC Jun 3, 2008 10:20 AM

I jog pass this diner every time I go to the gym and have always wondered if it's any good. Has anyone been there recently?

I think I might try to get some breakfast there this weekend.... any recommendations? I vaguely recall reading that they have good chipped beef or biscuits and gravy (can't remember which).

I've never been, but if you do go please report back. I go by there all the time and I'm curious about it myself.

Went there for breakfast once. The food was fine (ordinary "traditional" breakfast fare, not modern or trendy stuff). The service was weird, though. It seemed like we were mostly invisible. We definitely felt treated like "not regulars". This was a few years ago, though.

You should probably stop in--you won't go away hungry, but you may not be able to jog again.

Excellent daily specials. The beef stew and sauerbraten are delicious. Old school Baltimore food at its best.

Is Rallo's still serving sour beef on Thursdays or do they have it every day of the week now? Is it any good?

Rallo's is a very steady very good neighborhood restaurant that has a very loyal following. I used to go there a few times a week when I lived there, and still try to go when possible when I am on the road. Here are my suggestions:
Monday-beef barley soup; Wednesday-The turkey dinner and the chicken noodle soup; Oh also the short ribs which are available on Tuesdays, maybe other days too...and the sandwich I like best is sliced chicken breast---I have eaten a whole ot of them!
