reasonable Hollywood dinner

Relatives are staying at the Hollywood Diplomat next week. Is there anything within walking distance that is moderate? The restaurant hotels all have entrees in the $40 range. We are looking for someplace quiet so we can talk as we only have a few hours to spend with them

How about Mama Mia's in Young Circle? Its casual, inexpensive( early birds are downright cheap) and the food is good. Saratoga is awsome, but more expensive( but the meals are served family style so that might work).

The Diplomat has a less expensive restaurant across the street on the water called Rivals. It's a sports bar but more upscale than the normal sports bar with better food. Not great but not awful and right there, Down the block is Padrino's for Cuban food. There is also a good casual pizza place called Pioli Pizza which is a very short cab ride away, Giorgio's Bakery may work as well. Good food, reasonable prices, casual and on water. Sugar Reef on the Broadwalk may also work. All are short cab rides from Diplomat

Thank you all. We are considering Rivals as the prices don't look too bad and they have outside seating which may be nice, heat providing. We only have two hours, so I think that we must eliminate any cabs

Not really. You can take a cab north to Le Tub for an awesome burger or south to the Rascal House in Sunny Isles Beach. Not much within hoofing distance of The Dip.

LeTub has long waits for less than average food. Isn't Rascal House closed? Try the Flickerlight right before LeTub for a good pizza. There is nothing within walking distance that's resonable.

Rascal House is closed. Sniffle.

There's a resto called Giorgio's ( I think ) that may fit the bill (in terms of being quiet). I've never been there but hear it's decent.

Damn. I ate at the Rascal House last March. Looks like I may have been one of the last customers.The other two down the beach closed a few years back. Another piece of Old Miami bites the dust.

I always liked Le Tub for the strong drinks, handmade burgers, crusty service and generally shabby surroundings. Might not be the thing for the in-laws, though.
